3rd YINS at the ISCAS conference at CARS 2016 in Heidelberg

I was positively surprised to get the opportunity to speak on stage of the biggest lecture hall of the venue!” (Participant at the YINS 2016).

Once again, ISCAS brings the Young Investigator Networking Session (YINS) to the ISCAS/CARS conference. This year, in Heidelberg, YINS took place with a new successful presentation concept.

The objective of YINS is to provide a networking event and to strengthen the global exchange and cooperation between young researchers and experienced senior researchers. Young researchers prepared posters to present themselves by a short CV, their research interests and ideas for future work, as well as requests for clinical data, collaborations, expertise or jobs.

To improve the presenters’ visibility and make YINS more dynamic, for the first time participants gave a quick presentation on stage. A concept that worked out very well; the number of presenters and attendees increased compared to the last years. New contacts and career opportunities emerged successfully. Presenter Jan Bruse (PhD Candidate from London, UK) emphasizes: “Other conferences should follow this example. It’s a great opportunity to present yourself and your work and gives additional exposure, apart from posters.”

ISCAS says thanks to all participants and already knows: YINS will go into the next round. We will be organizing the 4th networking event at the CARS 2017 in Barcelona, Spain. You want to present at the next year’s YINS? Simply contact YINS@gmx.net and get your own opportunity!
